An area rug of color and colorful toss pillows to coordinate will add color you'd like.

Pull the rug a little under the sofa. You need the shelf out and an end table with a lamp. Get the books off the floor and buy a a larger shelf for them. Curtains should be out from the window about 3 inches on each side, floor to ceiling, and pressed well. Each side of the window needs at least two panels. You need a coffee table.

The art work and sconce are too high on the wall. You could actually use a larger piece of art work, but lowering will help a great deal. Great sofa btw

You also need to move the art work over so that it's centered on the couch.

First, you have to get a book shelf. you can not just stack books on the floor. And i guess a coffee table is needed as well.
Beside, i would like to recommend you some Tiffany lamps and wood floor lamps

Couple of things to think about. You have done a great job so far with your major purchases. The furniture and rug work well together.

The drapery panels should be heavier and linen-like, and full enough to cover about one foot of the wall on each side.

Find a pair of bookcases that are at least 5' tall and almost the width of the wall space from the outside edge of the drapes to the corner. You can find them at thrift shops. These cases do not have to match exactly, but be close in dark wood color. Most of them are not solid wood and are a challenge to paint and keep in good condition. There are many colors in a sample of wood and most of them coordinate well enough. The corner side of the bookcases will not show, the window side of them will be somewhat covered by drapery panels, so basically, the only part of the bookcase that will be front & center are the front edges of the shelves. Once they are filled with books and accessories, you will be concentrating on that, not the color of the bookcase overall.

Place your TV on a swivel in the bookcase so that you can watch it from your sofa.

This has been stated above but I am going to repeat . . . Lower your artwork to 6" above the sofa and center it. Then and add the sconces to either side, closer to the artwork [no further away than 6". You want them to form 1 group of 3, not 3 groups of 1.

Move the sofa's front legs onto the rug.

On the wall behind the recliner, hang a group of the 5 pieces you have on the walls now. It looks like they are all portraits in similar frames. You could hang the 3 larger ones side by side and the smaller ones paired above them. Place them all about 2" apart vertically and horizontally.

To add color, look to your rug and artwork. It looks like you have some shade of blue in both so this would be a good accent color for this room. Toss pillows, a throw, pottery & other accessories in blues plus maybe a green from your painting.

What is on the wall opposite the window? Would you post a pic please?

All of these suggestions take trial and error and a fair amount of patience. When you decide on using some of the suggestions offered here on your thread, you will be on a roll!

Ok, this picture really helps.

Move the console table to the other window. The wall it is on now is too short for it. It would look nice on that wall between the bookcases and drapery panels. A plant would love it there, and so would some colorful, large art glass. Art glass in the light would be a great hit of your accent color. Add a pair of lamps, layered in front of the drapes [if you have to because of the length of the table being longer than the window - - this is ok].

The other walls behind the recliner and beside the door need attention then. The etegere to the left of the sofa needs to be relocated, but let's see what develops before concentrating on these things?

Not crazy about this rug...I think you need a larger one and more color...then what ever color you decide on you need to bring some more of that color along with at least 2-3 more colors as minor accents to bring some ambiance to the room.
