We covered our asbestos tiles with laminate flooring at our cottage, only to be told the plaster in the walls of our house has traces of it as well. A company is coming today to spray latex on the ceiling in our basement to prevent the dust from continuing to fall (this house is about 135 years old), and since we also need some new wiring they will cut 12" x 12" square, vacuum and paint the edges so the electrician can fish new wiring through. There are remants of old "knob and tub," which is supposedly the safest you can have but the insurance companies don't like it.
