Most of our clients prefer stainless steel sinks for kitchens. But just recently I had a couple that requested a cast iron sink. They have always had this type in their kitchen, and they love it. Some people swear by integrated corrian sinks... So it it really is the matter of personal preference

Cream cabinets with a cherry island. Brazilian cherry hardwood floor. Oil rubbed bronze hardware.

Okay. Now, what are the features for which you are looking in you sink? Stainless steel, granite, solid surface, enameled cast iron all have different performance and pros and cons.

Stainless steel is by far the easiest to keep clean and has great durability. Copper sinks are beautiful but require a little more to keep them clean. They can be self healing which means if you scratch them they will heal themselves but they also can patina if not looked after. I really love the look of patina in copper so it depends on if that would bother you. The granite composite sinks seem to be the most difficult to keep clean as they tend to show a lot of hard water residue. Even with a water softener they tend to have a white haze. It's easy to remove but it's suggested that you put mineral oil on once a week. Porcelain sinks are also really beautiful. If you go with white be prepared for staining. They also tend to craze (crackle) and then the stains are almost impossible to remove. They are also very unforgiving on your glassware. Dropping them into the sink can break since they have little to no give.
