Looking for input on my floor plan

My husband and I are building a new home and we are looking for input on the design. I would really be interested in feedback.

my biggest concern is the laundry room entrance through your kitchen and pantry. It may just be me, but I wouldn't want to haul my laundry all the way downstairs, through the house and throught the kitchen. I would prefer the door to be near the back set of stairs. also kinda curious about the two bathrooms on the main floor. does one go to a backyard pool or something? very gorgeous looking home though!!

I agree that the doorway to the laundry room is awkward. I also am not a fan of the entry way going directly into the dining area and that the kitchen is so far from the dining area. I realize the dining room is a formal dining room and that the family room is nice to have at the back looking I to the rear yard but it just seems weird to me. Couldn't get much of a good look at the upper level.

Thanks for the feedback. We've heard others say that the laundry room entrance is awkward and so we are definitely looking at making changes in that area. Regarding the dining area in front of the entry way, one thing we were thinking is using different flooring to demarcate the dining room table and chairs in that space. Do you think that would help? What would you do?

If possible I'd like to see the laundry room upstairs. It's more practical. My other comment is about the kitchen island. I don't understand why it's an L shape. I'd prefer a huge island that encompassed that entire L shape in one big rectangle. Kitchens are the gathering place and a so is a huge island. You have the space and won't be sorry.

Not crazy about walking straight into the two storey dining area which doesn't have any defined wall space and would feel quite awkward even though you are striving for open concept.

Like Dyt, I'm not crazy about the two story dining space either. Just be careful with 2 story spaces. While most look great on paper, most have all the warmth and intimacy of a lobby of a Hyatt hotel. Not crazy about the door from the dining to the pantry either. If it were me I'd keep that whole wall clear for furniture and art centered on the stair.

Finally, really don't like the angled master BR door.
