How about a huge round clock on the blank wall? The wall with 2 pictures would look great if there were 4 of them, centered on the space..as of now it is too small.

I think you could add 1-2 more pillows so the wall doesn't show through under the cab and in the corner. Don't care for the dark pictures in that area. Try Barbara's idea of a grouping of 4 but lighter in subject matter, frames and mats. Decor clocks are useful n the kitchen. Paint the air vent to match the wall color and fade it out a bit. Put the clock on the vent wall and the art on the other one so as to put the most interesting item away from the vent wall.

If you need to keep the cost low, consider a fabric hanging.
Go to a large fabric store and look through their panels. They usually come in bolts with individual picture prints about 2'wide by 3' tall. I got baby tigers for my daughters room. She tired of them a year later, but the cost was low, so I didn't fret.

I like the clock idea. The pictures were from before and are to be replaced. I thought it needed more pillows. The pillows were custom made and I could have more made or shop around. Would you keep in the same pewters and greys or add a new color? Thanks for taking the time to offer your suggestions. It is greatly appreciated.

Add a pop of color - orange, red maybe.

One or two in a brighter color that goes with whatever you choose to put on the wall would brighten the space.

You could also try a mirror, or photo collage or metal wall art piece. Definitely add more color. Try a decorative bowl or vase on the table.

Seeing white and light neutrals, I think frames shouldn't be so dark - it's overwhelming the pillows.
Do you like modern art posters - no mat? hey giant fruit pictures?!
If your kitchen already looks 'busy' [cluttered!] best to use same style, different print. See banquette colors...brainstorming, but could spell a word out across both walls, whimsy?

For a fun graphic pop in the space, add an upholstered back mounted to the wall. It is an easy DYI project using plywood sheets, foam, fabric and a staple gun.

How about something interactive? A map with adhesive dots, a chalkboard, magnetic poetry, etc. My friends and family love that kind of stuff.

Do a series of small framed pictures about 15 x 15 about 3 on each wall. That will tie the walls together. This isn't the greatest example.

You could also do a series of framed vintage posters--food or drink.

Hello dklilly, lucky u have a kitchen nook...always wished for one!
Personalize it by making it a gallery corner.
Of course muted washed out colours for frames & pictures as you don't want claustrophobic
effect. A big frame could be chalkboard paint as well.
Also if you could at any point of time get a built-in back rest for your seating, it would look much tidier.
A white table cloth on the dining table would also ease the space.

I think that you should add two more pillows with a pop of color. Maybe in the bright blue like the vase you have on your table. As far as the wall décor, I like the idea of a clock on the vent wall and a piece of art that brings in the blue color for added interest.

I think you have enough pillows - if you add more it won't be comfortable for those sitting and eating and struggling with cushions. Add a back to the seating area to match the existing fabric on the seating. A home project perhaps? The back should float on the wall about 6 inches above the built-in seats and meet in the corner. Love the large pear picture in muted tones -- I wouldn't put a grouping of pictures there - too busy. On the vent wall - a simple decorative clock or mirror would work well. If you choose the mirror look make sure that what it reflects is interesting, otherwise.... (you know what I mean). The mirror s/b round (to mimic the shape of the table) and have a large decorative frame in stainless steel to tie in your appliances. Your table looks lost - you need some weight there - instead of a table cloth which is too too much for that space - simple solution - paint the back of the glass in white or opaque frost. Don't add any more colors, the muted mono tones look rich.

I think a different table is needed. The small glass one doesn't fill the spot and the glass makes the nook seem cold.

One way to add personality and fill the area would be a hanging light fixture.

I agree, but if no electrical, it could be costly.

To be truthful, I think it would be sort of a daily pain to deal with all the throw pillows. I like the solid cushioned back in the above right photo.

You have a beautiful kitchen! If I may, I would suggest that the cushions you have on the banquette, don't go with the overall feel of your kitchen. It looks so well put together and tidy-a place for everything. The pillows give it a more casual (and possibly cluttered look if they aren't always exactly in their place) I really loved the idea posted already about a fabric bench seat with a higher back. It adds colour and texture but looks more elegant. When sitting on a seat like that I always like a smaller rectangle pillow for my lower back. Another way to add some changeable colour and texture without it being as noticeable as the other type of pillow.... Anywhoo....just some thoughts to consider. Lots of great ideas posted for you! Also.... Some great ideas posted for you about one larger art piece and a clock rather than the two pictures you have hung... All the best with your space. Looking forward to seeing what you decide.

I love how it looks but I think a few floating shelves probably even just one at least with some decorative vases etc. Some nice art ie/ even black and white prints. You do need a pop of colour which you can get from a pillow or even vases, bowls etc. I would try to go high and cover much of the wall to bring the eye level up. I am a lover of mirrors so a mirror could also go above on one of the walls.

All neutral colours & colour palate from your kitchen will help it blend in.

1 1/2 or 2 times the width of your cabinet shutter depending, so there will be some coordination.

I had an idea and then I changed it when I looked at chuppis suggestion. I'd go with that, maybe with a spot color.

How about continuing the line of the counter with trim or beadboard?
