Hi there! I just bought a 100-year-old house and it has some really great character. The dining and living room have stained oak trim and some really great built-ins, including a hutch in the dining and some cabinets in the living room. The rooms are a little dark because they don't get much direct sunlight, so I'm trying to brighten and expand the feel of those rooms. A thought crossed my mind to paint the trim white but have already received some aggressive head-shakes for even thinking of painting over the original wood work. My main concern is painting the hutch and cabinets. I think white trim would look great with the maple hardwood floors that we have. Thoughts?
