The tiles on the edge of the counter, is it a different shape specially for the edge? or was it cut from a whole piece? And how thick were the tiles? Thank you! :)

The tile along the counter are called sink edge in this case, or v-cap. They are designed with a right angle so as to have purchase as it wraps over the top the counter. The tile are fairly thick measuring a nominal 1/2".
