Need to update dining room color

My house is very dark and I want to change the paint in the dining room. The kitchen was just updated in all white. I have white plantation shutters on the slider and white moulding. I would like it to flow better from one room to the other. Should I go solid, striped and what color palette?

    Try a very very light grey on the walls! Love this look and it especially goes with all white with maybe a dash of black somewhere as an accent.
