Thanks so much! I would love to paint the cabinets however "hubby" still loves the Oak and it is part of Den which has Oak window casings (huge amount) and built ins as well. It would be a huge job to paint it all and it would be too much white so I'm leaning towards just toning it down in the kitchen for now. Thanks for the advice about wall colors and backsplash! here's another angle to give you an idea about the wall I'm talking about. It would go all the way to the ceiling above cabinets and extend down to wainscoting by pantry door and countertops between oven and wall to left. Just the back wall from corner to corner.

I like the brick floor- goes very well with all the wood. Have you picked out granite yet? I only ask as it seems that granite might look a bit too busy here and quartz might be a better/calmer option. The backsplash will have to go with whatever you pick out for countertops. Maybe just paint the backsplash if you go with a granite that is busy or has a lot of movement.

Initially I have picked out Kashmir Silk (nice light granite with very subtle light tones and a little movement but not too much) kind of a creamy/latte tone. Stainless sink/faucet. Thinking creamy/light tone on backsplash and something light in the way of paint on walls.I love the Textured Fresco by SW in Canterra Stone. would that be good on walls?

what color are the actual backsplash tiles ? black or blue ?
kashmir silk is great as it contains several tones of your brick floor and is quite muted and subtle and you could even keep the bsplsh tiles or replace them with a bluish grey mosaic as you have that tone in your bricks and in the kashmir silk tops.

actally I think it's called "kashmir white" .... make sure you can choose the slabs being used and go for the greyer ones

Thanks Eva! The backsplash tiles that are there now are original two inch navy ceramic with a grey grout - planning on replacing with something less shiny (since the granite is so shiny) and lighter.
