Island overhang

11 years ago
I have a 7-1/2 foot x 3 ft island going into my kitchen next week. Should I cut the overhang down from 12" to 10"?

I have overhang on two sides (one short and one long -- like an L). I could use those two inches to increase the work space between the island and the wall cabinets.

Is 10 inches enough of an overhang for knee space?
