You can't make it look more centered, but you might balance it a bit better. You have the right idea with the table. I'd remove some of the stuff, and hang a tall painting over the table. It should be narrower than the table and a hair taller than the fireplace.

You might try a heftier console table too.

An interesting bookcase may also be an idea and one that was the same height as the door, so fireplace would be centred in it's middle.
