I did consider that but what you don't see in this picture is that just to the left is a doorway and the tile would go up and over the door too. The door is the corner so it would stop there. But maybe you're right. I'll ponder some more, thanks.

Do the whole wall and have the tile stop at the edge of your counter top.

Here's the other side. The counter top stops 3" before the door frame. My idea is to "frame" the narrow space between the dishwasher and the wall so it reads cabinet not wall. Then take the tile up from there. My thought was to end at the height of the cabinets on the right which then eliminates the over the door question. I do like the idea of the whole wall but where does it end?

It looks like the counter edge is the door frame, is I'd use that as your stopping point. I think the best look would be that full wall stopping at the counter edge.

Yes, you are right. I think the best would be all the way up, but my husband is full of opinions and he prefers to the countertop level. Aren't husbands supposed to stay out of the kitchen if they don't cook? Thanks for your ideas.

I agree they should probably have no opinion but that said there is a very nice product from Schluer that I use to finish the edge of tile often this pic shows that edging .

If you tile the height of cabinets around the window it will still look very clean. Use the edge of your counter top as the stopping point, even if it is less than 1" from door frame.
