The after picture does it no justice. The island is actually where the refrigerator use to be. In the before pic you can see tape on the floor....that is where the island is.

Thank you. It was a very stressful process. Making final decisions on what to put in seem to take forever, but it was all well worth it. This site was a big help along with all your comments and suggestions. .I still can't believe this is actually my kitchen. I am so happy with the way it all came together.

I know just how you feel. We recently redid our kitchen taking it from the original particle board cabinets with horrible interiors to a lovely light, workable space. I sometimes just stand and look at it, marveling at the change. Congratulations and enjoy.

Not sure how to post to each comment, but chrissiekirk, with all these cabinets and storage that should not be a problem :) cljakl it actually took a couple weeks to get a routine down for cooking and I still rearrange the drawers and cabinets! It's so exciting to have all this after wanting it for so....long.

Hz0523 - for MONTHS after the kitchen was finished I moved things around. My husband kept saying, "but I just figured out where you put ...." Actually, with the remodel we now have an approx 10x6 pantry that I AM still rearranging.

@athrockmor & @sugarbrown if you do redo your kitchen, check out the Deerfield collection at KitchenResourcesDirect.com. Spend a bit extra to get the roll out trays in your base cabinets or use drawer base cabinets. I did both plus the Super Susan corners. Including crown molding, 3 bathrooms and a laundry room and a pantry, I'm spending $11,300 delivered for solid maple, stained and glazed, with Blum quiet close hardware, dovetailed joints, etc. You can also get solid cherry. I also did some extra deep and some narrow depth cabinets. They also have island cabinets. You'd be surprised at how nice they are. My Builder's cabinet maker could not come close in price.

I think this kitchen came out fabulous! Enjoy . . . aren't pantries just wonderful!

Outstanding transformation! Love that you used all wood cabinets! I've been admiring white cabinets with a contrasting island for years. I was certain that's what I'd do, but I placed my order a week ago and came over to the all wood side. Seeing your beautiful, completed project makes me glad i did.

Your floor is also special! Is that a wood-look tile plank floor or all wood?

I agree with Connie about wood cabinets. Painted cabinets are the current trend but to me they look cold and lack dimension. Your wood cabinets bring a lovely warmth to the room.

I also like the wood cabinets. I had white cabinets and hated them because they showed every speck of dirt, drips and spills. I spent more time cleaning cabinets than I did cooking! Your entire kitchen is beautiful!
