Nice Dresser! Would you be willing to refurbish it? (paint, stain)

where would you put a bed in here? maybe I'm just not seeing the whole room?

I really like that bed but the room is not big, probably 12x14, not sure how much room it will take up. That's why I'm considering sofa bed, but not sure about the color. I've never painted furniture. On the right side of the dresser is the wall, no furniture, and then the door facing the windows. Should I use curtains? I never know whether curtains will look good on a window like that.

You could check out Klik-Klak sofa beds. They are small and inexpensive and come in many modern styles. There are chairs and ottomans that flip out into single beds. Another option is to get a good quality air bed that can be put away when not used. If you do not want to paint your dresser you could simply drape a stylish, modern tablecloth over it.

I love the chairs! It will fit that little room well. So, should I use curtains? What color should I use? May need to buy a chair that matches the curtains, huh?

Hi Sugarbbrown! Curtains might get in the way if you need to put the desk there. If you like modern but need to tie the dresser into the rest of the furniture, you could shoot for a "transitional style" which blends traditional and modern styles. So if you go that route, a "soft Roman shade" like below would look great. And you could try adding drapes on either side mostly for looks. I'm adding a photo of a possible style of desk that may help tie in the dresser without going too traditional. And throwing in a desk chair for fun.

I have had to do this so many times for various clients. We have done all of the above and most times it works out perfectly. Even a murphy bed...could work if you have the room.

Here's another option to replace your ultra modern glass desk for something that could match up with the dresser....A mirrored writing desk.

Thank you, but I need a long desk to put the printer and file stand. We don't have any shelves but maybe we should. I found a vanilla faux leather chaise with chrome legs that can stretch out into a bed under $200. Maybe I can replace the desk legs with different color or even chrome...

The bed I posted above was custom and designed for two twin mattresses so standard sheets would fit.
