What is the wall color going to be? We have similarly dark floors and our wall color is BM Revere Pewter. We went with BM White Dove for all the moldings and trim.

Going with ivory wall color and would like to stain moldings and trim lighter brown as seen in pic.

If you stick with stained wood colour then you will want to stain it an identical colour to the floor. If not, then paint it out to a colour that is complimentary to the ivory wall colour (or match the wall colour). Leaving the trim on the windows is one thing...leaving the baseboards the same colour as the windows which does NOT match the floor is a bit of a faux pas.

I would rather see nicely painted baseboards together with wood coloured window trim and a floor that is dark stained then I would a medium toned baseboard with medium toned windows and dark floors.

If you want to save on labour, have the baseboards stained to match the floors (or painted to match the wall) and leave the windows as they are. Baseboards should match the floor or should be painted out.

This is what we decided on. Stain similar to kitchen cabinetry that .
