What is the backsplash?

The kitchen is beautiful and very similar to my current remodel project. These photos helped me decide on my pendants (finally). I can't see the backsplash tiles well - what are they?

    I'm sure you're finished with your remodel by now, but the backsplash is hand made subway tile with a crackled tan glaze. They are little tiles 4x2 instead of the standard subway tile size.
