Frameless shower door, header or double door?

We have an area where a tub was, so there is one opening, tub length, for a shower door. We have been advised to use a header or a double door for stability. What would work best. The door will not go up to the ceiling because it's too tall so we only have the sides and bottom to anchor the glass. Help please.

I am a Journeyman Glazier that does nothing but frameless shower doors... and for this arrangement I would most typically install a door mounted on the wall with 2 hinges and a "side-lite." That is, a fixed panel to your chosen height, using 2 solid brass clips on the wall, and either a clip or silicone only at the base of the panel. I am very cautious about safety (my reputation depends on it) and this does very well.
