White trim dilemma

The trim, doors and built in bookshelves in my house are currently painted Behr cottage white which is a little yellowy white. It looks good against warm colors but I like grays. Should I repaint all trim a brighter white or would the yellowy white work with some grays? What about wainscotting in bathroom? Repainting seems like a big project and I don't know if it is necessary or not. Another thing is it looks a lot more yellow in some rooms and more white in others...

The reason your trim looks more yellow in some room, and whiter in others is because of the type of light bulbs in each room. Exchange them, and see what happens.

Before completely repainting the trim, paint a poster board or a small piece of sheet rock sold in the paint section of big box stores the color you're thinking of repainting your home. Set it next to the trim and see how it looks at different times of the day. If you have any of the trim paint on hand, you could paint that on the sample board also.

I have the same dilemma! The trim in our house we recently purchased is Cottage White, and I too like grays. What did you end up doing?
