I would say any kitchen should be suited for granite keep in mind depending on what color you choose you may have to purchase an entire slab of granite. However we do granite countertops on vanities your selections may be somewhat limited to the bone yard. It would help to know what color of granite you are considering

There is a granite (that I think comes from China) that comes in counter width with a finished edge.. It is much cheaper than slab and cheaper to install because of pre-finishing...there may be fewer color choices but this can be ordered in smaller amounts easily ...they also make a wider width for islands

Also may suggest you look for a smaller sort of mom and pop operation where they don't have the overhead that demands these minimum prices
