My wife, and I decided to do a total remodel of our first floor. This meant new everything. Living room, dining room, kitchen, hearth room, laundry room, half bath, main bedroom, main bathroom, new light fixtures throughout, all new floors, stair railing, and all new paint. Choosing Johnson County Remodeling as our contractor was one of our best decisions. We had a vision of what we wanted it to be, and they were such a great partner in helping make that vision come true. Mike Hilt and his crew made our remodel an enjoyable experience. They are very organized, and communication with you is important to them. They even set up a remodel website specifically for us, where at any time we could access our projects plan documents, calendar, financial details, etc. Whenever our home gave us an anxious challenge, they brought an immediate calm with the perfect solution. When we were excited as things wonderfully came together, they celebrated those events with us. Their relationship with us was so welcoming. Most important, their quality of work and attention to detail is excellent. They did a wonderful job, and we are so very happy with the end results. Thank you so much Mike.

Mike and Johnson County Remodeling went above all expectations with the detailed and finished look of our accent lighting including recessed LED lighting to really show off their skills. They met a very tight deadline and quality did not take a back seat. Cleanliness throughout the project and after as well. Thank you for the amazing work!! Definitely will use them again for future projects and upgrades.

Mike and his crew were awesome to work with. They tore off and replaced my old deck with a larger deck. His ideas were a lot better than what I had imagined. Will definitely be using them agan.

Mike and team are awesome to work with! We had a good idea of what we wanted but after working with them to make adjustments and elaborate on finished product our basement turned out amazing. I was home the entire time, because I am a stay home mom, and he and his team are very thoughtful and always knocked even when it was month 3 and I had told them they didn't need to anymore! :) The basement itself is finished to such a great standard. We have 2 walls of nothing but custom wood work including a huge bar with sink, lots of storage, stone backsplash to the ceiling, wine fridge, two beer spouts and microwave. Then on the other wall we have wine cabinets and a snack bar with lights that cannot be matched! The custom built beams on the ceiling of our bar lounge area are amazing and look so nice with the floor to ceiling stone wall and hanging fire mount. My vision of black walls in the powder room came to life with a custom floating sink and amazing black and white 3D tiles! The kids playroom is closed off with amazing barn door and even a kid sized barn door on our custom kids 2 level playhouse with slide!! Our theater room is the best seat in the house! Could not have gotten this with another company, LOVE what we did and so happy we worked with Mike!

Mike and his team performed a spindle/railing installation for us. Their services included: -Removal of horizontal wood "rails" -Custom staining new "T" and straight mold pieces to match existing -Installed new iron spindles on main floor and staircase The team was incredibly professional, friendly and paid close attention to detail. They were also very kid-conscious which as a parent of two young children was extremely important to me. They did a wonderful job and cleaned up daily. I would recommend using them on any job around the house.

Mike Hilt and his crew did a fantastic job on our home remodel. Our house is a 2-story, mid 1980s house. The lower level was gutted which included removing a supporting beam. This was very important for us in order to fit in the island and to get the open concept we wanted. Mike was great to work with... he listened to our ideas and had many good ideas of his own. His professionalism and confidence in his team gave us confidence, and we were not disappointed. At the time of our remodel (2006), he had been working in the business for many years with his father. In our initial meetings, Mike was straight forward and honest about cost estimates and his overall cost estimates came very close to actual; no surprises. Mike shared anything he saw that could be a problem, as well as a plan to address it. Conversely, Mike would also let us know if he saw an opportunity to make something even better for little or no cost. One great example regarded a leaking gas pipe. We had always noticed a slight odor but testing never revealed anything dangerous or in need of repair. Mike found a hairline fracture on the pipe and just fixed it; no charge. Other examples include: economical structural changes and rerouting of plumbing and HVAC to create more open areas, replace stairway spindles with wrought iron ones to dress up the entryway, optimizing cabinet space, and an awesome backsplash tile design. Both budget and anticipated completion date were close to original estimates. We liked and trusted Mike so much that we asked him to do some remodeling at our lake house. We received the same high quality service and a few ideas there, as well. These included ideas on using closet space to restructure an adjacent room to add a built-in refrigerator and much improved tile facing on the fireplace that provided a higher-end look.

My wife and I noticed a few issues with both the interior and exterior of our home. A neighbor of ours was having some work done, and I stopped and asked the gentleman working (Mike, the owner of Johnson County Remodeling) several questions about his business. He came to the house the next week, gave an estimate on all of the needed work, and the projected start date. Once he began, it was obvious his background and experience were substantial, as he knew exactly how to address all of the problems and issues we were experiencing (wood rot, drainage, etc.). He also worked through the interior issues (one wall, a couple of areas to fix related to the ceiling, replacement of door handles, etc.). His expertise and quality of work was excellent. His attention to detail, customer care, and warranty for the completed work were far superior the other companies I received bids from. The reputation of integrity is valid. I, without reservation, recommend Johnson County Remodeling for interior and exterior repair and remodeling. You cannot go wrong with Mike!

I hired Johnson county remodeling to remodel my master bath and walk through closet. I chose them because I felt I could communicate with Mike, that he knew construction and his estimate was reasonable. The project took longer than estimated because of some problems with sub contractors. Better oversight was needed to make sure things were being done to high standard. In the end it turned out beautifully. I especially like my huge tiled shower with glass doors and the custom cabinetry. I would definitely hire Johnson county remodeling again.

Mike Hilt with Consolidated Contractors (Johnson County Remodeling.com) is a great contractor and a great guy! Mike finished our basement in the winter of 2010 which included a rec room, bar, theater, bedroom, bathroom etc. His pricing was reasonable and the quality was five star! He always had a great attitude, was highly dependable and kept on schedule. Mike continues to be our "go to" guy for all household projects. He replaced numerous windows after a hail storm several years ago, recently replaced our hot water heater, does all of our handyman work and is who I contact when household items go amok while my husband is traveling. I hired Mike, from Johnson County Remodeling, to fix a drawer in my kitchen island. I've seen Mike's work on complete kitchen remodels, and he does beautiful work. This was just a small fix-it job, but Mike was quick, thorough, and professional throughout. I will definitely use Johnson County Remodeling again in the future.
