Contrast and creamy colors. Dreamiest home on the block? Wish someone could help my old historic Spanish revival in Cali!

    Gorgeous!

Might take you up on that when the pocketbook heals from the purchase. Thanks Doni! In the mean time, I'm going to figure out how to post some images of my own. Might work on the iMac.

It really does look nice, but I'm not so sure I'd agree with "restoration", at least when it comes to the outside.

Love the yellow. Not loving the tall porch railing tho.
I also would have liked to have seen working shutters, rather than replacing the decorative ones they had.

In the nearly 8 years I have owned my old house, I have learned a lot about actual restoration. Upon first glance, (especially with fresh paint) things can look amazing, but it's the attention to the small details that are the difference between Restored & Renovated.

I'l post some interior shots soon. The place was an absolute wreck, floors caving in, walls falling down!!! It was definitely a restoration!!

just so bungalowmo is clear on restoration and the value of period, check this library/office, with the 1800's Gothic Arched book shelves. It will, even without the hardwood floors lets you know we ain't mess in' around !!!!!!!!!!!!
