We've been working on renovating and decorating our house and now are at a loss on what color carpeting to put on our stairs. When you walk in the front door you see the stairs in front of you but also the living room to your right and a hallway to your left. The living room and hallway have the same rug/ runner. I was thinking of a medium shade brown with some texture (see pic) but is that too boring? All of the walls are Benjamin Moore "White Sand." Thanks so much for your help.
PS. I also have a large, hairy, black and brown dog and we entertain a lot including lots of kids so durability and camouflage are key!
