Do you have a photo? My general suggestion is to prune what you have if it's overgrown and remove damaged, dead or sick plantings. Once things are cleared out, you'll be able to see where you need to fill.

Depending on the grade of your site, there are all sorts of options; from terracing, sodding, gravel or just plantings. Also, do you want shade, to expand your living space to the out doors or just a low-maintenance yard?

Thanks Manon...i just really want to clean things up and make it look good. Purely visual for a wow factor. I will try and post some pics of the house then you tell me what you think. It is in a pacific northwest climate.
