Actually I'd use a honed marble or granite on the dark side to make your cabinets pop! And I'd think about adding color to your walls, so your subway tile shows...not enough contrast.

I really love the look of Carrara Marble.

Two types of light granite are Perla Madre and River White. These have the durability of granite bur resemble light marbles in color and pattern

I would use callacatta marble because it is white with a grey vein but it also has some veining that would coordinate with your floor tile colour. And I would paint the walls Benjamin Moore "Perspective" - a soft gentle grey that can read blue undertones.

Danby marble is also an option. It is a beautiful white and grey look, and it is denser and more durable than many other marble varieties.
