Need help with backsplash

Hope you can help me with backsplash choice. We have white cabinets and recently changed countertop and purchased kashmire white granite. I saw 2.5x10 tiles in the tile shop today and really liked them. Two questions 1-typically 3x6 is used with subway tile backsplash. Can I use 2.5x10. I checked and it doesn't come in any other measurements. 2- I have white cabinets and hardwood floors. Which color in the picture would you suggest? I am leaning towards light grey or beige color. Thank you.

Yes you can use 2.5 x 10. I would set them alternating or what is called Running bond. Personally, I like adding depth into the kitchen with the dark chocolate.

Hi Lauren, thank you so much for your advice, how about using multiple colors instead of one? Would that make too busy? Also what grout color if I use gray next to the darker one? Appreciate your help.

I would go darker to add some depth and contrast.

2.5 x 10 in a running bond is a nice look. I would stick with white or gray. I think the cooler gray would be nice with the stainless steel refrigerator. and grays in the counter. Multiple colors would work better with a small, mosaic tile, but not with the 2.5 x 10. You will need to figure out a way to end the tile. Ideally there are tiles available with a bullnose on the 2.5 inch side.

Thanks all for your feedback, I put numbers to confirm the color, could u vote the number? Some parts has grain veins, but others more cream background. I have white cabinets as you can see. I want clean look but need a pop factor to create contrast. I also appreciate bullnose end comment, I did not think about that before. Thanks so

Schluter makes anice edging for finishing tile I like it more than bullnose in a modern kitchen I think bullnose is too heavy looking. As for color I would go gray and I like the grout to be the same color as the tile to keep it unbusy looking.FYI I also like glass subway tile laid in a stacked pattern and sometimes I do them stacked vertically for a more modern feel.

By bullnose, I mean that the tile has a rounded edge that returns to the wall.

Looks really nice. I love the color variation in the tiles, it gives a more interesting look. :)
