If you can, relocate the fireplace between the two windows on the left or on the wall where the television is and make it a two way.

It's difficult for me to say without more photos of the room - I can't tell where all the windows and door ways are. Is the glass door the front door?

From what I can see, it looks like the fireplace could be centered on the TV wall. Built-ins could be added for the TV and storage.

Would also like to see different angles of this room, but I would start with taking the wallpaper border down and adding a smooth texture on the ceiling. Please post more pictures of the rest of the room and I would love to comment on fireplace placement .

I agree more pictures would be most helpful. My gut reaction is that moving a fireplace is expensive business -- remember, you'll have indoor and outdoor work. But based on the odd location of the FP I can see why you'd want to move it. Have you considered a corner FP. If some of the existing FP can be used, you may save yourself a lot of money. I agree about the boarder, but after that, if you can afford to replace the carpet, that would be my next step!

I personally don't like corner fireplaces. A lot of builders put them in, and they make it very difficult to arrange the room. Ideally center the FP on one of the exterior walls, and have built-ins on either side, or windows if that placement works best.
