Silestone is a quartz material that is stain resistant, scratch resistant, and is treated so that it is bacteria resistant too. You can see more details on Silestone here - www.silestoneusa.com. It's been about a year, and so far no stains and it cleans up beautifully. I even used it as my back-splash behind the stove. I love that it is so easy maintenance, since I cook quite a bit. I looked at Caesarstone too, but I liked the color choices and the brightness of the white in Silestone better.
