Not a fan of using a 4" backsplash out of counter material and then adding another backsplash of a different material. By doing that you chop the small area under the cabinets into two smaller areas. Why?

I agree as well on the back splash.. it should have been a flat counter up to the wall. Thats how its done commonly. I like the lighting and it seems you have increased the counter space slightly which is always nice to have. All new appliances too which is a plus. I think with the limited space you had to begin with, you have optimized it the best you could have. The colors look great as well. I just hope the craftsmanship that went into the work is just as good :) You spent a lot of money, details matter.

Thank you very much for this comments our design desk totally agree with you guys and in an ideal showroom kitchen that's the definetly the way to go but we are limited to our customers needs and preferences and when it comes to a kitchen in a condo that people actually live in and cook it is much easier to clean any spills or sprays that might happen with a 3in backsplash so in some occasions practically has to take over design especially when it is a 900sf condo in downtown chicago without a lot of room for mistakes

It looks like alot of thought went into it. The materials play well off the appliances. As for the backsplash, if your client likes it I would say your firm was successful.

Beautiful! However, the before was not bad at all.

That's not a reason-- it's an excuse on the 3" or 4" backsplash. The rest of the kitchen look good.

I think you did a fabulous job! I would not of thought that dark cabinets would make a space look larger, but they absolutely do, and stylishly. I also like the reconfiguration of the cabinets and especially the eating bar. Now, why can't I ever get my stainless appliances to shine like they do in these photos?!

Monique Barrow you are right the before wasn't the worst we ever had by far!! but again it didn't fit out customers needs and she wanted to make it more modern and we also added a "hidden" all in one under cabinet washer and dryer that you can see the opening briefly on the bottom right of the first picture next to the bar stools that we couldn't just add to the old kitchen and it's a very important addition to a downtown condo as you probably know
