Paint color for kitchen cabinets?

We want to paint our kitchen cabinets. We have built ins in the family room in the same wood and it is just too much. Our kitchen is painted BM Mount Saint Anne and the counters are white Quartz with grey and mirror flecks. The obvious choice would be a grey I guess but I am open to all suggestions. Our floors are a medium oak. Our backsplash will be marble hexagons. The only thing I don't want is the common all white kitchen. Thanks for any advice.

I actually love the cabinets - they look updated and somewhat timeless - and replace the backsplash and possibly the countertop (it's hard to see them). I think gray would look washed out in that room personally.

Also what about replacing the small table with something more contemporary to start pulling all your pieces together?

i would paint the living room and leave the kitchen. gray cabinets in the kitchen will come and go, so will white. wood is always in fashion. and it is a lot less to paint the living room rather than the kitchen. Now, if you asked me about the pendant lights in there...i would say please change those. is there only one little guy over the counter and then the same little guy over the nook?

We love our counters they sparkle in the sun and when the two pendant lights over the island are on. Backsplash is going to be changed to the hexagon marble which can read as both modern and traditional. Forgot to mention we are on a budget so the table and chairs stay. Might consider painting the built ins instead but that would be more work actually. Appreciate everyone's feedback

We have decided to replace the pendants over the island after all. Flair lighting do you have suggestions?

It's hard to give a color recommendation without seeing the feast of your home. Flow is important. But based solely on your photos grey is the right way to go

you need something that goes better with the shaker cabinet, modern flair, subway tiles. the one over the table is too small.. i like the harrow collection from Murray Feiss, for the pendants, and the Besso collection from Fiess as well. these are all MF pendants check them out, little modern addition.

I would go beige and a reddish island to go with the tone in your dining chairs. Very simple beige subway tiles and a great runner or rug under the dining table that incorporates colors from other room.

We have a nice Cafe table and chairs. currently too small for the space, will be getting two more chairs, recovering the seats, and a larger table top for the base. It's a little more modern and a dark espresso which will change the paint colour choices for the island. It wasn't cheap and is not being used so a good compromise financially. Will be changing out the pendant lights over the island and changing the globes on the three light fixture over the table. Here is a picture of the chair. Will be a much better match for the blue and greys used throughout.
