Can you find another place for the TV? Do you have two other walls? Post more pix. We can't see enough of the space to be helpful. I think you have enough pieces to do a nice room but the TV needs to be addressed asap to move forward.

I think it feels a bit dull (lacks light) maybe a brighter rug, and a bright or white throw for the couch.

Can the couch be moved to face the fireplace and tv? It would need to be at the edge of the rug. Is there room to do that?

Is that a radiator under the window? I think I'd move the TV to the wall behind the sofa, and place the sofa perpendicular to the etagere beside the FP. Place your two chairs facing the FP. The table is too high for the arms of the chairs but will work by the sofa. Remove the etagere and push the table into that corner nook to serve the sofa. Hang one of your art pieces 5" above the FP and place the etagere on the widest wall remaining by the french doors, the other art piece on the opposite side of the doors.

I am noticing a couch in the room beyond this one....a sun room maybe? Is that couch smaller? What does it look like with the chairs? Is it possible to switch the two couches to lighten up the tv room and put the darker one in the room with all the windows?

I like decoenthusiaste's ideas. Also, the room needs lighting, lighting, lighting. I would also swap out the rug for one that is less saturated (select a lighter color).

One more observation, the side table and the lamp are both oversized.

I would also remove one of the accent chairs from the room... instead of having them both facing the fireplace (as deco suggested) I would place one on the diagonal line on the side where the dark sofa is currently located (but the side away from the entry point).

Center the rug with the sofa. It looks totally awkward. Why is the sofa pushed so far toward the fireplace? Pull it away far enough to center it on the rug.

Why is the end table on the hearth?

The tall table (with the chair) looks like it might be the right height for the sofa but not sure you have room?

I agree with decointhusiaste's recommendation for rearranging the furniture and relocating the TV to the wall behind the sofa. Whenever possible I avoid hanging a TV over the fireplace. It is fine to have 2 focal points in a room, one more for converstionand the other for TV watching. When rooms are large enough you can place the TV on the wall beside the fireplace and have a sofa or pair of chairs face both the TV and fireplace.

I like that idea but you know the world feels it should be over the fire place...thanks for making me defy conventional thought...

Question do I mount the tv to the wall or sit on a console how do I hide the wires if I mount the tv......

If you get a credenza the gear should fit inside. A swivel base might help if you think you'll need to turn it to adjust for viewing.

I used white tape for my cords, surgery tape. Usually tv is mounted close to tv.
