If not that fixture, especially because it cracked..... something similar because I like the vibe it gives the room. Nice space! Have you done the pendants in the play room? I've been waiting to see. lol :)

I don't think the pleats overwhelm, and I do like the red inner which is a great tie-in... falling apart no.
Ceiling heights vary I noticed and yours is not tall which seems to fit.... I liked grobby's on left.

I love it. What a shame that it's cracked. Think it's a great design and really works in your room.

I think it will look great in the space. For me, it connects to the mid-century modern vibe you have going on and to that gorgeous piece of modern art above the buffet.
The scale of the fixture is on the larger side but I feel it creates a sense of drama in the space.
If you keep it , please post a pic, I'd love to see it.

I think it's perfect. Well, except for the cracking. Maybe you can get a replacement if it's defective.

thank you everyone for your input. thank you especially @groveraxle - that helps IMMENSELY. much easier to visualize than having my husband "dangle" the 15 lb pendant over my new walnut table! it's a keeper, but i might see if i can get it replaced because of splintering/peeling. lightology has been very helpful with this matter! i'll be sure to post after-pics, and thank you for all your compliments. (: @zazfuzzroc - haven't installed others...encountering same splintering problem. once our electrician comes to install i'll be sure to share!

@everdebz - lol. careful, i'm north of the 49th parallel too. (: but i agree...i happen to like the look of this cake mold in my dining room. i like to eat cake too.

Hey- be nice to our Houzz friend Genevieve;) The first thing that came to my mind when I saw the light fixture was a bundt cake pan too, lol. We all can't like the same things.

The general rule of thumb for fixture table height is 33" from the bottom of the fixture to the top of the table.
