We are completely remodeling our kitchen. We have a dark stained oak floor and very dark cabinets. We are removing a wall, putting in new Maple Honey Shaker cabinets, adding SS appliances, stripping the white oak flooring and putting a light (natural stain) on them. We already chose a granite counter top and above the island we have glass pendant lights in a blue hue. I would like to keep everything within earth tones (browns, greys) and add some blue accents throughout the kitchen/Breakfast area/LR. I like to create a more contemporary/Transitional environment. What color/type of tile do you recommend for the backsplash? Also, do you think we should choose a different stain for the flooring (other than natural) since the cabinet color is going to be very light? I'd appreciate any input. The change is going to be so big that I cannot picture how anything is going to look and if it will go together at all.
