chiseled granite kitchen countertops

Should the chiseled portion only be on the sides or should there be chips/jagged edges on countertop surface, from the chiseling, thankyou

Only on the sides, please!! Even then your friends may object to jagged edges pulling at their clothes!

just to make clear/we didn't want the chips on the surface, I was wondering if that is norm, since we are newbies at this

Nope, Carolyn is correct! There should not be any chips or jagged areas on the surface. A chiseled edge is only along the sides edges of the countertop.

Is a raw edge and chiseled edge countertop the same thing?
Wondering if raw edge is just rough from not being polished. Having countertop fabricated now and designer and fabricator are trying to talk me out of chiseled edge but I love the look. If raw edge is just not a polished edge and no chiseling is done, I'd prefer that.
