I just completed a shower niche like this one and learned alot. Here's a couple things I wish I knew beforehand. Take note of the solid surface shelf pictured here. I wish I had used solid surface instead of tile. Most importantly, take note of how the glass tile on the side wall is just slightly taller than the back of the niche. This is critical because you have to account for the thickness of the tile that is on the underside of the niche. Otherwise, go for it. Such an elegant storage solution.
