Here are a couple of popular split renos to inspire. Looks like you have two doors to deal with, so that would be the biggest issue to tackle.

Its a lovely house. I strongly agree with replacing the metal siding. Cedar lap siding would be okay, but I suggest using fiber-cement board lap siding. It looks like wood, is durable, doesn't rot and holds paint well. There are also some engineered wood siding products that are treated to resist rot and are more "green" than the fiber-cement boards. You might consider a moss green color.

Is this an active post? Love your exterior redo. Your idea book suggests you prefer black window trim, which looks good with cedar. From photo, it is hard to tell which door is the front door, so make it much more prominent with color that pops from the reddish cedar surround, or widen the door, or landscape walkway from driveway, etc.

The cedar choice was a good one! A nice improvement. If you have any money left over, how about a contemporary door and post light to boost the MCM style even more?

The cedar looks great! First thing I would do is get different doors. Something contemporary with a lot of glass. for some reason I'm not able to post pictures on here right now. Will try later.
