need an inexpensive way to create a fort

I have a 6 yr old boy, my baby ( the youngest of 5 kids) who has been drooling over the playhouses/ forts on top of the BJ's and Costco swing sets for a year now.Craigslist never has any.I would love to make/put together a fort/playhouse/hideout before he's too old to want it!Any suggestions?

There are actual plans for building these I think Lee Valley has them.

Most inexpensive way is to purchase a pop up tent. Then you can also use it inside too.
