New Bathroom

We are building a new house and I am deciding what to put in my bathroom....soaking tub? jetted tub? japanese tub? skip the tub and put in a large 2 headed steam shower? I don't have a tub now, so i feel like I want one, but not sure ill use it? we don't have room or money for everything, but we could always put a hot tub outside if we don't put a tub in now ;) Please share what your favorite parts of your bathroom are! thanks!

Yuk! for the tub (not a fan of soaking in ? water) and Yeah! for the shower.

Bathing in a tub only works for those who can get in and out of it safely, without help

Consider a French door configuration.

A separate tub int he master ensuite usually helps with resale down the road.

I'm about to get rid of the master tub in favor of a larger shower. A nice soak is good once in a while, but I used it only 2-3 times a year.

If you are not sure about what you want, getting a shower as a defaut is always useful. I don't think i've heard anyone say they 'don't use the shower' :) Tubs these days are used more for luxury and you can always get a free-standing tub once you realize that you really want one.

We will have a shower either way, it is whether we also put in a tub or use that space to make the shower larger and more luxurious (steam, bench, etc)

If you have a tub in another bathroom you could use in case of an injury that needs to be soaked or small children and the like, go without it in the master.

If you have 2 bathrooms then you can one in each. I agree that tubs are not used like they used to be. I have some pics of walk in showers that look sleek. The curbless showers will come in handy in case there is injury. It's always a good idea to be prepared. We always recommend to our clients to future proof for that reason.

I see. I'd say don't expand the shower, put a tub. It's always better to have options in your bathroom and if you think that the tub will be used a lot, all the more reason to do so. (Also, you won't regret having a jetted tub for sure ;)) We'rehaving a sale right now on the Maax hydromax jetted tub by the way. 15% off.
