You could add a sconce to either side of the bed, not only functional but for light at night, as well. I also think a London shade would be attractive on your window. I agree with Maureen about layering some more linens on the bed, especially a few decorative pillows, like Euro squares and a bolster. Good luck, you're well on your way!

Not sure how far you want to go with this idea but I would paint the walls white and hang some curtains from the ceiling around the bed. Get some new bedding & lotsa pillows. Add a cushy chair. How about putting a rug under the bed for color. Curtains & night stands art etc.

I totally agree that adding layers to the bed will go a long way toward making this room feel welcoming and cozy.

I am wondering g if the art on the side wall is a bit too big - as gorgeous as it is? I would be inclined to make the art smaller, and then put curtain panels on the window. I know it's close to the corner, but I think it would be do-able.

Also, the TV looks like it should have a dresser under it. It will finish this side of the room, and give better balance. This would be convenient for guests as well.

When you are shopping g for a new night table, consider using a small table instead. The table in the collage below (from Lamps Plus) is 26" diameter and high - the perfect size for a bedside table. Place a modern task lamp on it, for comfortable reading.

The collage below shows how I imagine your room to look. You could use spa blues instead of teal. Or, even go with a palette of caramel (walls), brown, black and white, for a monochromatic look.

A more interesting side table than a matching one , like a round wrought iron with a stone or ceramic mosaic top. Love the idea of framing the TV ! Even a heavy console table with a single lamp under the TV would ground it. The art on the floor looks interesting and might be better than the large one that's up.
Careful of staining the crown moulding so dark because it will drag your eye up and and you'll be very aware of the size of the room. I'd just paint it a darker version of the wall color. Rich layered bedding will change everything .

Wow these are all really great ideas. A lot of things I did not think of. Definitely thinking of changing the artwork and color of the walls and trim to a complimentary color.

Adding color to the room will be huge I think the artwork/curtains/rug would be a great way to do it just need to find a color scheme to collect some new finds with!
