Condo kitchen remodel

This was my very first remodel. It took me one year to design. The space was very tight as it is a downtown condo in Philadelphia. I stole a little room from the foyer closet which allowed me to recess the frig a bit. I worked with an outstanding contractor/master carpenter who figured out how to work with all of the inconsistencies in the kitchen. My cabinet maker was a Pennsylvania Dutch craftsman - incredible quality. Cabinets are painted maple and bar is solid cherry. Quartz countertops - the best! Very inviting now.

Gorgeous cabinetry and careful individual design. Nice to get exactly what you want.

To get the level of detail that was necessary we went through a few CAD design iterations. This was necessary given the limited space we had. The devil really is in the detail.

Hi James, did you do the cad yourself or hire an architect?

Hi Suzy - my cabinet maker had the CAD system which he used to program his CNC saw equipment. We did not use an architect.

Looks great! You would have gained 10-15 percent more storage with frameless cabinetry vs inset. However, the inset cabinetry is beautiful and worth every penny!! Great job and I'm sure you will love it for years to come.

Yes you are absolutely right about the frameless vs inset but I really liked the look of the inset for this space. Here is a picture of a very challenging corner we had. This is where we took space from the hall closet to recess the refrigerator - made a huge difference. Bottom cabinet is huge!
