as I was posting I thought how natural your grey cabs look - will you have textures in nubby fabrics, woods distressed.... blues?

I'm not a fan of grays and browns together as there's not enough contrast.

Monotones are wonderful - as long as they are relatively in the same hue/family. Go for it!

I think it would look great with the floors, in my opinion I would try to put in white or a creamy offwhite where ever possible to lighten it up and keep it from looking too dark and drab in there

We just re-did our kitchen with a similar grey cabinet for the bases and white on the uppers - solves your monotone problem and makes the space look brighter with a higher ceiling.

This gray is light enough to handle a dark/very dark floor. So long as you stick with the "American Walnut" colour range (browns with some gray/green tones) you will be fine. You want to avoid oranges/reds. Interestingly the "perfect" match to the cabs is the floor that is visible in the photo. It looks like you have a strong pull towards these colours.

Is that your counters in house? If not what will they be. If doing a Carrara look. The gray cab would work, with floors but counters and cab should be same tones.

thanks for the comments everyone. The picture just shows the cabinet in the showroom, so those are not the floors or countertops which we will use (construction has not evens started yet).

The cabinets will be distressed, and we will have two islands, one large with the sink, and one is smaller. One of them will be a different color, likely something lighter or maybe a distressed blue color.
