In need of some balance!

The previous owners of this 1970's ranch were not thinking ( obviously) when they created a second story addition to use as a studio space. Now, as the current owner, I'm stuck with this awkward looking structure and I have no idea what to do!
Thoughts?

The only way to truly correct the problem is to add a complete second story across. The architectural style could go towards Georgian or colonial. You could tear off the addition, but it is not usually a good idea to remove square footage. Best of luck!
