Hi everyone. Demo just started today on my kitchen. With everything open, I'm thinking of leaving the dining room completely open to the kitchen. The negatives are 1) the kitchen will have different flooring - a dark brown 24 x 12 tile - while the dining room will keep wood, 2) I am adding 12" deep cabinets less than a foot from the dining room. I was going to have a wall extend just enough to block but now would leave them visible to the dining room. The alternative is to add molding at the same height as the doorway to the right. What are your thoughts?? I have before and current pictures attached.
