Help with modern bedroom.

Okay so I really like the modern look. I like the Modloft design style but I don't want spend that kind of money for this room since it isn't the master bedroom. but I want to keep that design style for my whole house. Are their any beds the have a similar look to the Modloft design style but not so pricy. But I don't want cheap stuff in my house, so nothing with particle board please. and must be a platform style bed like in the pictures.

Side note: If you don't know who Modloft is here is their website.
http://www.modloft.com/store/Beds

And if you know any brands that have the same look but even higher quality than Modloft then feel free to share. Not necessarily higher price so much as higher quality.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Modloft is a great price for what it is. I'm interested to see other posts if there are more affordable options. Those are the best priced modern beds I've ever seen.

@stryker So your saying I could have someone make me a bed almost identical to one of the Modloft beds above for less? Are you sure? Their bed seem pretty reasonably priced. It seems like a custom bed would be more than $1,500.

I don't know where you live or who you have access to. I had a guy renovating my house--he did fantastic carpentry work--and I wanted a new bedroom set. So I talked to him about it because I couldn't find anything ready made that was totally doing it for me. He was very excited, and we designed, together, beautiful furniture that he did for under the cost of retail. A houzz friend, who's building a garage/cottage, wanted a door and couldn't find one she liked that was pre-made for the price she wanted to pay. I said "Tell your contractor what you want and ask him how much." And that contractor gave her a great deal on a custom door. I've heard of other houzzers getting custom kitchen cabinetry (from carpenters, not from companies who specialize in cabinets) for less than, and with better quality, than they would have if they went through the conventional channels. You can also pay through the nose! But it can't hurt to ask. That doesn't (shouldn't!) cost you a thing. I think you'll get a good deal if you work with someone with talent who isn't fully established yet, or who wants to do something fun or different.

@stryker So who would I go to ask about getting furniture made. Just look for a local carpenter?

That would be a start. It needs to be finish carpentry, not rough. Anyone who understands wood and has pride in artistry would be a contender. If you want part of it upholstered like some of the pieces you showed, that makes it a little different. There you would need a sturdy frame, but more importantly would need someone who knows how to stuff and hang cloth. A seamstress. Where do you live?

On the question as to where to find something similar, you may want to check out Italian manufacturers like ALF, Rossetto or Fabelli. Much better quality than the Chinese imports from Modloft.
