I actually love your room just the way it is (a lot)!

I think curtains will mess with the striped wall, and you will lose the geometric effect you are getting from them, along with the windows and the art. It's all very graphic, and I would love to see it stay that way!

You have lots of softness in there because of your sofa pillows. For more softness, maybe a textured rug is the way to go?

It looks like gray would be a great choice for your rug color. I hesitate to go with anything too patterned, so as not to compete with your awesome decor, but.......this one from Pottery Barn could be a good fit?

I am looking at its "rectangle within a rectangle" design and thinking that it would be a good repetition of shapes in your space.

The pretty pattern around the border would be a nice counterpoint to all this "graphicness" (is there such a word?)

I do like that! We've been looking at more beige because the couch is a distressed ox blood red. And the chairs are a camel color. Do you think grey still? It's different than we've checked. There have been 5 delivered and returned so far!

I do think gray is your answer! Would be a nice, cool contrast to the of blood red and the caramel chairs. It would also pick up on the gray in the wall stripes (not sure if that's paint or wallpaper?), and also the large pic. Also, the silver etagere in the room.

Otherwise, I'm rather liking how that pattern is countering all your straight lines and geometrics!

Size-wise, are you able to scoot the two chairs forward a bit, so that the front legs are on the rug? Same with sofa, if it isn't already on there (hard to tell).

The second one definitely isn't gray, is it? I do like these patterns, and think you're on to something there.

However, it would be nice to see the gray coming into the room more - not just with the rug, but even a couple of gray pillows in the mix on the sofa would be nice.

No, I wouldn't do curtains! I really think it will take away from the very interesting vignette you have going on there.

Samantha, I'm so glad you like the rug. It does look great, doesn't it? And, I love how you introduced the lighter color pillows to pick up on the rug colors.
