Almost done! help with final touches in master bedroom

We’ve finished the master bath and moved into the master bedroom. New headboard will be here this week (upholstered, ivory). Removing mirror from dresser. Paint is done. Now for the finishing steps. Carpet, blinds, curtains, accessories. I’m stuck at this point. Appreciate your suggestions! I always lean towards clean & clutter free. The wall color (SW evergreen fog) was a big step outside my neutrals.

Please post a pic of the headboard you purchased.

Do the sliding doors go to closets? For a more clean and decluttered look, I'd paint them the same color as the walls.

Any chance of putting in hardwood floors are are you wed to carpeting?

It's difficult to advise you without knowing the style you are going for. Do you have any inspiration photos? Are you keeping the dresser and night tables? Do you like pattern? Do you like a monochromatic look, keeping all the green? Or would you like to add some other colors?

    What the heck is this?!

If you insist on wall to wall carpet, I'd start with that. Neither of the samples on your floor are warm enough in tone.

The wood tone of your current furniture is a pretty good foil for the green of the walls but there's something about the furniture that I don't find appealing. Perhaps it's the somewhat rustic nature of it. I don't think the furniture will pair up well with the new headboard you will be using. Would you consider painting the furniture white?

    Closet doors

Closet doors yes.... for sure paint them same color as walls. Then just artwork and drapery. Love the color of your walls with your furniture.

I prefer monochromatic, simple and clean. I can’t seem to post more pics on my app. I’ll try later when I’m home. I appreciate the input and it’s a work in progress.

I think the wood dresser and nightstands will be fine with the new bed. I'd look for a chunkier based ceramic lamp. The acrylic lamps you currently have disappear into the wall. Your inspo photo is fairly clean and simple. I would definitely paint the doors to match the walls, otherwise they become an unwanted focal point. Definitely a warmer tone for carpet as Jan suggested. I would look for a looped carpet for a more modern, cleaner look. Will you be adding another mirror over the dresser or will you look for artwork? Do you prefer print bedding, solid, or a mix? It looks as though you have room for a chair in the corner between the dresser and window. I would look for ivory curtains hung high and wide for the window. Do you like the botanical prints over the bed in your inspo photo?

You certainly have several options, here is one...

Ivory headboard sounds very yellow and none in the rest of the room. You'll need to incorprate that color somewhere else, perhaps in drapes, lampshades and bedding.

Gray/Green and brass/gold toned toned bedding.

    Matchstick or bamboo blinds.

    Brass drawer pulls.

My headboard is more of an oatmeal color. I would love artwork over the bed. I ordered sand linen duvet and other items. I’ll get more carpet samples and circle back when I have more details to share.

Sometimes you just need to go further than you want to go...........

I really find the closet barn doors disturbing, disruptive. At the very least, I'd paint them satin finish in wall color. There is no need for the rod to extend that far beyond the window casing, even if adding curtain panels. Doing so means a single pair if purchase ready made will need two pairs, or skimpy will be the result. The width seems no wide, so I question the need for two shades as well.

All other doors are white? Paint out that window trim please to same white?

It's time for some sleeker more grown up side tables....some new lamps

Even the dresser has the country boy feel, so maybe in time.....it moves over for something else: )

IMO start with bedding that you love , I usually do that before wall color but the green ispretty easy to work with for bedding. I agree the barn doors need to disappear as much as possible . I happen to like a rod wider than a window for drapes so that the whole window can be open when needed . Drapes after bedding for how I choose those. Take the mirror off the dresser and add a nice piece of art there . You got lots of good ideas for bedding and decor already. When getting drapes yo but enough panels to be 2.5 to 3 times the width of the rod too.I have no idea what the color of the window trim is now but yes it should match the rest of the trim.
