Well, it is very much a personal decision.

Easiest / cheapest / most common solution would be sliders (wardrobe) doors. In a 176" opening you will need 3 at least.

Bi-fold doors will offer greater access, but you will likely need to frame a jamb in the middle as well as the span is too great.

Going higher-end, you have the option of doing this closet as a built in. That would look the best and get you most organization options, but will not match your husband's closet...unless you re do it as well. Note though that this is a far more expensive option, especially for such a wide opening.
