Where do you feel there is too much wood? Almost the entire house is stone and stucco already.

I would consider local limestone and do it on some full walls.

Where are you building? I spent about 20 years in San Marcos and Austin.

Maybe front columns solid stone up to roof line and outer branches of house all stone, middle portion of house on either side of the front walkway and door in stucco. The change half way up the wall bothers me as landscape will eventually hide lower section. All that roof trim, is too much? Light stone, smooth stucco, black windows, dark brown metal roof? Wimberley, any ideas would be appreciated, thank you!

Have you considered having your ideas rendered like the image you posted above? Having someone develop a 3D model of the home with your choice of materials will make it much easier to visualize. I could recommend someone in your area.

The trim might be painted to blend with the other materials.

I would match the window and roof colors.
