We just bought our first house and I'm ready to start decorating it. I want to repaint the living room but still deciding on the color.

My biggest problem is that corner with the fireplace and the in wall shelf. Where should I put my tv and what should I do with that in wall space? The whole area just looks awkward to me. (This is the old picture I don't have any shelves or cabinets)
