Ceiling fan is a completely different look than a chandelier and not necessarily what you're wanting. You seem to have the functional lighting coming from sconces, and recessed lighting. I think if you want the chandelier more for beauty and ambiance then go for it. Like others have said, don't go for overly bulky or too busy where it will detract from the view. We make custom chandeliers from glass and generally we will customize something for someone's space with as many pendants as the client wants to fit their space, and can space the pendants out a bit if they require that look.

For example, in the project below we spread out the pendants so the chandelier wouldn't obstruct the view of the painting. In fact it reminds me of twinkling lights in the night with the painting as a backdrop. You could also do things with clear glass which will help minimize obstructing the view.
