Well, I'm no authority, so I can't say what type paint, though silver sounds nice. ....but my friend redid her chandelier and it looks great. She used a spray paint. So I know it's possible. She changed hers to a hammered copper. I'm pretty sure you may have to prime if it's a slick surface. I'm sure a pro will stop to help. Good luck in your new condo and have a great holiday! :)

First, you need to make sure the paint is heat resistant, not to flammable when light fixture is turned on for any length of time.

For the DYI project, you will need to clean, lightly sand, prime and spray (best) paint. You need to make sure the primer and paint are compatible with the existing paint or you'll have a big mess on your hands. It is very important to make sure to read the drying times and between coats recommendations.

For the best results, contact a local metal coating company that can powder coat the fixture.

I have contacted one powder coating co and they told me they could not help me. Thought it strange. Maybe I will try a few more. Thanks.
